Too Big Too Small

I'm that weird ambiguous size where I'm lucky if I can fit into the biggest size they have in normal clothing stores, and even luckier if I can fit the smalles size in the fat lady stores. And despite being chubby I don't have breasts the size of my head so big clothes often looks weird on me even when it fits otherwise.

The idea for the comic came from when after looking for clothes in a normal store and finding nothing that fit, went to one of the fat lady stores and the woman said, "I'm sorry, but I think you're just not fat enough to shop here" after I had tried on a million different things.

By the way, the first dress I'm wearing in the comic is supposed to be one of those classic flower-print summer dresses which I failed horribly at coloring.

EDIT: Haha! No one has ever said "Get out you're too [...]" to me. I made them say that for joke effect. Neither am I sad that she told me I wasn't fat enough to shop there. Made me quite happy actually. It just made it a pain to find clothes. So you don't have to try and cheer me up. This is supposed to be funny! XD

Fantastic comic! I can relate completely. Finding clothes that actually fit can be hit or miss in the in-between size.

I am a seamstress and I work in tailored clothes (if you have time for me to make a dummy out of your shape) and Size-less clothes. Size-less is when I make a dress or other clothes easily too big for you, then put drawstrings in the front or back in order to make it look tailored. It's the best of both worlds. Hit me up on Gmail if you want to order something or see what I have made in the past. o0phoenix.soul0o@gmail.com

Hahah I'm with you on this one, especially with pants. I'm not a big fan of pants in general, but my hips are so wide that while my shirt and tights are a size 42-43, my very few pairs of pants are in the area of 56...but it's worth it, for the sake of my great calves and funky butt. ;) I can usually find clothes well enough, but it does get challenging to find something that fits my long torso as well as my hips and breast area.

Hm~ I can't find the perfect outfit for me too...
Girls say that I'm too tomboyish with sport clothes, too girly with pure pink clothes and too emo-ish with neutral clothes, so it isn't strange to see me in a baseball league t-shirt and a flowery shorts to "fit" ·~·

"Not fat enough to shop"... that is new ^^

Due to the difficulty of my currently weight-loss venture, I had been known to find clothing a hit-or-miss during the transition between fat to thin.

So the feeling is mutual, Ms. Humon.

If all else fails, I shop at Wal-Mart (an American convenience megastore that has departments) for clothing. I'm around the size of a XXL (that would be the largest they offer before they get to plus sizes)

I can't go to k mart or Walmart, nor do go to Abercrombie and Fitch but i just like to walk in just for fun, everybody would he looking at me and my friends we would walk out laughing, the same thing when we go to Victoria secret.

TerBear, have you come across Bravissimo/Pepperberry? They do clothing by size (ignoring boobs), then curvy, really curvy, and super curvy.

I got a cocktail dress from there (via eBay because they're not cheap direct, though their sales stuff are actually rather reasonable). It shows off the fact I have a waist. It's flattering on my stomach. And it contains and supports my boobs which means it's modest enough for me to wear to a family/work party, even though it's a strapless dress! It's amazing! I realised that, bar my wedding dress which was quite cleavagey, and had a corset back and really good boning, I've not actually bought a non-stretchy dress and not had to alter it since I was about 11...

They do ship internationally, so it might be worth having a look.
