Whenever you draw Christian monks, it's always Catholic monks. Could you draw an Orthodox monk? Maybe? (i'd imagine one with a big beard cause they do that)

That Shinto monk looks a lot like what mendicant Zen Buddhist monks wear. Really wanted to see a Komuso, Zen Buddhist monk with the basket looking Tengai hats. (Had look up what the hats are called.)

Oh, but the best part of Buddhist monks are the widely different robes all the sects wear! Zen priests in Japan have these wonderfully gauzy black robes over a plain white one.

Ah, I remember studying about jainism.
The reason why they had those masks because they don't want to ingest the tiny beings floating around the air.
At least, that's how I remember it.
