I can definitely relate to the struggle here. I am a very friendly person, and I love talking to people, but I'm not fond of physical contact except with very close friends (mostly female) and family. "Friendly" Candi, who throws potlucks and talks about books, gets mistaken for "flirty" Candi, and people get offended when I don't reciprocate hugs or physical contact. It makes conversations with guys in general somewhat uncomfortable, and I have to choose my wording very wisely, as I don't want to offend, which proves more difficult when I tell them I have a boyfriend, (not in an overtly "I HAVE A BOYFRIEND" way, but more in the same way as "I live in Arvada with my three lovely dogs and my boyfriend," kind of way.)
