Oh wow this would be an amazing plot hook and or origin story for a Chronicles of darkness game.. (That's a pen and paper horror game line by white wolf... its broken down into multiple 'stand alone' venues based off whatever monster you want to play as.. werewolves.. vampires.. etc...)
