That's truly kind. And not that much of a surprise; in Japan at least it's not unusual for a person to follow more than one faith-- they even have a saying about it: "Shinto is for life and Buddhism is for death." That is to say, Shinto is good for the things you do in your everyday life, and Buddhism is good for the rites of death and considerations of the Afterlife. Christianity has been in Japan since at least the 1500s, so also not a surprise. It's not a conflict there.
