No it's not Arab rather -- in the specific part of which the maiden died in battle -- Byzantine Roman instead.
It's recorded by Byzantine Rome historian after they were victorious in Dorostolon (Today Silistra, Bulgaria) 971.
The batle was when Byzantine Emperor, John I launched a siege to finish the remaining army who fleed to the fortress of Dorostolon after their defeat in Battle of Arcadiopolis (Nowadays, Lüleburgaz, Turkey) in March, 971.
It was part of the Byzantine-Rus war, where at first Byzantine encouraged the Varangians (who are often called as Rus' people, mind you also, due lacking sources there's confusion of whether Rus mentioned was Slavs or Varangians) to attack Bulgaria. But then resulted as their own defeat, then The Rus turned against their allies, Byzantine, and sided with Bulgaria instead.
----
In another Note though, there's a record mentioned that Varangian were engaging in battle against Khazarian, which also adopt Islamism aside other religions at the time (Nowadays they're Azerbaijani, but I won't call them Arab since they're not originated from the Peninsula).
