I am a long time fan of mythology of all sorts. I also love appearances of mythologies in fiction. One of my favorite portrayals of Loki is in the Fifties novel _Day of the Giants_ by Lester del Rey. In it the Cold War turns *really* cold, because of Ragnarok. Loki, it turns out, isn't evil he's just bored out of his mind by those stuffy Aesir, Jotun and etc. He and Thor pal around because the big guy can take a joke.
